Connecting brilliance with opportunity
Andela is a pioneering global technology company that specializes in training and deploying top-tier software developers across Africa. With a mission to unlock human potential by breaking down barriers to opportunity, Andela identifies exceptional talent on the continent and provides them with intensive training and mentorship in software engineering. Through a rigorous curriculum and hands-on experience, Andela equips these developers with the skills and expertise needed to excel in the tech industry.
Once trained, Andela’s developers are matched with leading companies around the world, helping to bridge the gap between the demand for skilled technology professionals and the availability of talent. Whether working remotely or onsite, Andela’s developers collaborate with teams to drive innovation, solve complex challenges, and deliver high-quality software solutions. By connecting businesses with top-tier talent and providing opportunities for developers to thrive, Andela is reshaping the future of work and empowering individuals and organizations to achieve their goals in the digital age.
Future Academy encourages individuals from underrepresented backgrounds to express interest, even if they don’t meet all suggested criteria. This program welcomes applicants from around the world, with a special invitation extended to those from India.
Why we worked with Andela
The primary challenge that Andela aims to tackle is the global shortage of skilled technology professionals, particularly in emerging markets. In many parts of the world, there is a significant gap between the demand for software developers and the availability of talent with the requisite skills and expertise. This shortage inhibits the growth and innovation of businesses, hinders economic development, and limits opportunities for individuals seeking careers in technology. Andela seeks to address this challenge by identifying, training, and deploying top-tier software developers from Africa, thereby unlocking a vast pool of untapped talent and providing businesses with access to the skilled workforce they need to thrive in the digital age.
What we worked on
User Interviews & program design
Minds Studio led user interviews and conducted an extensive research project involving clients and members of the Andela Talent Network to gain insights into the current status and training requirements within the Andela Community.
Following the dissemination of findings to the leadership team, Minds Studio swiftly developed an initial pilot design, which was collaboratively implemented with existing Andela resources in under six months.
